Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Important News from Your Credit Union

As we face into a second lockdown and a very unusual festive season we here at Blanchardstown and District Credit Union wanted to reach out to all our members and the wider community to let you all know that we are here to serve and help you. We will continue to provide you with a full service and our doors will stay open.

Please watch and share that video so this message can reach more people in our local community.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) – CEO statement

We would like to advise members that your Credit Union remains fully operational.

Our office will remain open normal hours and steps have been taken to ensure service continuity while continuing to follow HSE and Government advice and guidelines.

In line with this advice, and in the interests of member and staff safety, we would ask that MEMBERS ONLY ATTEND OUR OFFICE WHERE IT IS ESSENTIAL TO DO SO.

In the meantime, to reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 we would like to remind members that you can conduct all transactions through our Online Banking facilities available through our website www.blanchardstowncu.ie

Management & Board members are constantly reviewing the situation daily. We have robust contingencies in place that will keep the Credit Union working for our members should the situation escalate.

Support for credit union members

Your credit union approach is to support our members whose income has been impacted by COVID-19. We are member-focused organisation and will endeavour to offer flexible arrangements that cater to the different impacts of COVID-19 on each individual member.

We are working tirelessly to address member concerns with regard to the availability of credit. Members facing difficulties due to COVID-19 are urged to contact us as soon as possible to make alternative arrangements that will assist them through this difficult period.

Our system currently does not allow us to freeze loan repayments. For those of you who have a loan and are worried about not making loan repayments or damage to your credit rating please submit Loan Flexibility Request Form HERE or contact us at creditcontrol@blanchardstowncu.ie or phone 01 820 3495. Please understand that we are receiving a high volume of requests but will contact all Members as quickly as possible and will support our Members through this challenging time.

Actions to ensure operational continuity

Members are urged to engage with our credit unions as much as possible through digital and telephone channels.

The health and welfare of our staff and members is our main priority in all decisions. We have issued guidance on hygiene around the virus in our offices and we will do our very best to assist our members where possible and permitted.

If a face-to-face meeting is absolutely necessary, please visit our office and follow social distancing guidelines in the branch. Please stand at the markers in the queue when waiting and at the counters when transacting. We appreciate your cooperation during this time.

We provide as much information as we can to our members on our website and through Facebook and Instagram.

If you have any query please contact us at 01 820 3495, info@blanchardstowncu.ie or via Facebook messenger. We will respond as quickly as possible.

The only thing that we can do in this situation is to work together as best we can to protect each other and to help each other. Your credit union will remain, as always, here for our members.
